“Words are just not enough” to describe this woman. On Sunday, June 7, 2015, Aituaje Iruobe popularly known as Waje bared her soul to audiences at an event tagged 'Waje Live:

The tale of an African soul'. Unlike the big stages the singer usually performs at, the event was held in a space decorated with tea lights and framed pictures of the singer at the ethno-chic Bogobiri House in Ikoyi, Lagos. The singer said this intimate gathering was her way of saying thank you to her fans for being part of the Waje brand.

“Fibroid is a swelling in a woman’s womb. It is like when there is a ball in the womb. It is risky; yes it could be a danger to the woman’s life and at the same time, the woman may not be able to give birth to a child,” so stated Dr Olu Adeoye while speaking on the medical condition called fibroids. In the past decade or so, this ailment has been on the increase in the country, according to medical experts and available statistics.

For instance, prevalence rate figures show that over 50 percent of women in the country above 30 years have uterine fibroids. Worse still, the condition is more common among black women than Caucasians. So, what could be responsible for this serious medical condition that is affecting so many women?

Dr Babajide Saheed, of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, (LASUTH), proffered some answers.

RENOWNED Nollywood actor and comedian, BasorgeTariah Jnr. is returning to the small screen as Africa Magic premieres its new Pidgin English sitcom, Do-Good, on Monday, 6 July, 2015.

Do-good, a spin-off of a popular Nigerian drama series of the 1990s, features the exploits of the titular character Do-good, played by Tariah, who returns from a sojourn abroad to woo his sweetheart, Emem, played by leading Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw.

TELL us about yourself?

I grew up in Ajegunle , a Lagos slum,. But when I tell people, they hardly believe me. It took much time, and grooming for my environment not to have a negative impact on me. I read many books, and watched foreign movies, which sparked my interest in the make-believe world.
Eucharia Anuobi, is one actress who impressed me. She speaks very good English. And in my area, you could hardly hear people speak good English; speaking more of pidgin and Yoruba. But I had to learn, which comes with a dictionary, and frequent visits to the café, which was how I learnt to separate myself from my environment.

Scorned husband gives ex half of everything he owns

A German man seems to be following his divorce agreement to the letter by using power tools to give his ex-wife half of everything he owns.

The man posted a video of him cutting chairs, beds and phones in half for his ex with the translated description "Thank you for 12 'beautiful' years, Laura! You've really earned half." He has reportedly sent half of the pieces to his ex and is selling his halves on eBay. As of the time of this post, his car is selling for a little more than $50.

3 friends Habeeb Adisa (25), Kehinde Aderinoye (25) and Ilyas Ogundimu (27) raped one of their female neighbours, a young woman,who was a close friends. This incident happened in a neighbourhood in Iju area of Lagos.

The victim, 19-year-old Adenike (not real name), a hair stylist, said she summoned the courage to speak about her ordeal because she did not want the3 friends to go free and do the same to someone else.

Narrating how she was violated by the three men whom she trusted most in their neighbourhood, Adenike said that there was no way she could have suspected that within the 2 years she had known them, that those 3 could have ever done what they did to her.
Calmly, but with a lot of anger and pain showing in her eyes, Adenike said,

A businessman/politician and environmentalist, Alhaji Suleiman Yerima narrates how he was detained and tortured for 80 days by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) while he was incarcerated by them.

In a petition addressed to President Muhammadu Buhari, Yerima detailed the inhuman treatment he got in the hands of the EFCC operatives and how he and his friend, Mr. Uwem Antia were battered in a torture cell operated by the EFCC in Lagos in collaboration with the police. He said he survived the ordeal only by the grace of God.

He said his ordeal bagan on March 3 while he was out of Lagos on a business trip. He said EFCC operatives called him and invited him and his friend, Antia, who he claimed is currently in a critical condition as a result of the injuries he sustained during the series of torture they received while in the custody of EFCC operatives

According to a story sent to LIB from Akwa Ibom, a 19 year old boy named Daniel Michael Edet, (pictured right) a student from Idoro in Uyo LGA, killed his aunt, Glory Edet Ebere, 44 (left).

The boy used to live with his aunt but one day left her home unceremoniously. For months the aunty didn't hear from him but on June 11th, he showed up at her house and said he wanted to return home. The woman who lived alone told him he was no more welcomed in her house, that he should go back to wherever he was coming from. Daniel then asked for money to go back and the aunt said she had no money to give him. A quarrel ensued and Daniel attacked his aunt. He stabbed her multiple times, killing her. He then stole her car keys, locked her corpse inside the house and left.

A suspected trader in illegal wine, Alfred Omeke, who was apprehended by operatives of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, says he has sold the product for more than four years.

According to PUNCH Metro, 40-year-old Omeke from the Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State, was nabbed on Sunday, June 14, while allegedly loading cartons of the unregistered wine into a truck in the Trade Fair, Ojo area of Lagos.
Our correspondent gathered that a team of enforcement officers from NAFDAC, while on a patrol, intercepted the truck and found the illegal wine.

You Can Not Stop Me From Donating My Wardrobe Allowance To Osun Workers, Bruce Tells Aregbesola

Ben Murray-Bruce has insisted that he would give 50% of his wardrobe allowance to workers in Osun State and the State Governor cannot stop him. Osun State workers are yet to receive salaries in 7 months. This comes after Governor Aregbesola of Osun State hit out at Ben Bruce gestures as being ridiculous, telling him to rather give his allowances to PDP states that had similar remuneration problems.

It started out as just another day for Debbie Dills, but that quickly changed. Debbie was running late Thursday morning on her way into work at Frady's Florist in Kings Mountain, N.C., but she was actually right on time...to help police catch the alleged Charleston church shooter.

Dills and her boss, Todd Frady (both pictured above), made the initial calls around 10:35 a.m. that led to the arrest of suspected shooter Dylann Roof in Shelby, according to local reports.

An Egba Chief, the Oluwo of Ikanna, Chief Moses Oyebade was Wednesday night shot dead by suspected assassins who gained access into his house around 12:00am and shot him several times till he died. The assailants left a note in English and Yoruba which read: ‘Useless man. Oni dokudo (promiscuous).’ The chief however only celebrated his 75th birthday in Lagos two weeks ago before the incident.
The Ogun State Police command has however vowed to bring the perpetrators of the act to book.

Photos: Wife killed in head-on crash while pursuing her husband who was driving with another woman

A married woman based in Houston Texas lost her life yesterday afternoon in a tragic car accident after her car had a head-on collision with another car while she was chasing her husband who was carrying another woman. The woman apparently lost control of her car and went into a spin, striking another vehicle head-on. She died at the scene and the man in the vehicle that she had a head-on collision with sustained injuries and was taken by Life Flight to an area hospital. The woman's husband and the woman with him were unhurt. So sad!

Annie Idibia was spotted today in New York where she has gone for another business trip, possibly related to the production of her Beolive Hair products.

She's 49 & still looks incredibly good. The pop star popped up at LA Airport on Wednesday, rocking a black top, matching harem pants, white sneakers and a whole lotta curly hair. She was with her with her husband of three-years, Wissam Al Mana, who also wore black outfit and white sneakers.
